El Juego Que Jugamos Solos
(The Game We Play Alone)
By El Pelele
10th September - 19th October
ACUD Galerie
Opening: TUE 09.09.2025, 6-10pm
Perfromance during the opening: 8pm
El Pelele’s work renders the body unstable, a sentence to be rearranged, a fetish garment transforming how it is inhabited. Objects—seemingly inert—become vessels charged with erotic vitality. Desire slips between ridicule and tenderness, subversion and play, offering a world where obscenity is reclaimed as power.
The exhibition unfolds as a spectral stage where reality is refracted through eroticism, parody, and the grotesque. Here, desublimation operates not as simple inversion but as a form of critique, insisting on the mobility of desire. El Pelele compels us to confront the contradictions that structure not only sexuality but also subjectivity itself—asking us to wager, like it does, on the absurd, on the uncanny game we play alone.
