Asoo Khanmohammadi is an artist, photographer, and stand-up performer, in an artist talk at Acud Galerie in the frame of tracing movement(s) in uncertain times organized by Goethe institute in Exile, she will speak about her photographic journey in Iran and Europe, her video interventions, and her life as it takes a new direction towards writing and performing on the peripheries.
Asoo Khanmohammadi (1980) Iran, lives and works in Vienna She graduated in Visual and Media Arts, Photography at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna (2011-2019) and she holds a B.A, in Photography (2004-2008) from Azad University in Iran. Asoo exhibited her photography in Tehran and across Europe in group and solo Exhibitions. She focuses her gaze on the margins of society, on marginalized people and traumatic moments. Central to this, are gender-political questions, the woman /LGBTQ+ in society. On this journey, recently the stories of women at the cash register in Vienna during the pandemic, occupy her mind as she writes and performs about her encounter with them.
