We invite you to a night of readings and toasts. On April 21st, join us for the launch of The European Review of Books Issue 3, a multilingual magazine of culture and ideas, in collaboration with do you read me?!.
Essays, stories, poetry, rants, jokes: the European Review of Books publishes in English and in a writer’s own tongue. It launched in 2022, as a literary magazine to thicken the European intellectual atmosphere, with new writing from Europe & beyond. Its print issues have a peculiar two-layered design, both newfangled and old-fashioned. The pages are uncut: turn them to read, but cut them to revel. Rip it to read it.
The launch will feature readings by contributors from the magazine’s first three issues: Adania Shibli on writing between Ramallah and Berlin, Svetlana Lavochkina on poetic profanity in Surzhyk, Alexander Wells on the joys of Denglish, Yu Müller on Chinese palindromes, Nienke Groskamp on psychic detectives, Sander Pleij on Mynona, Peter Frederick Matthews on catastrophic exactitude, Wiegertje Postma on the art of word vomit, Christy Wampole on the art of neurosis, George Blaustein on zero-euro bills, and more.
