Echoing Futures – On practices of radical imagination includes six exhibitions and an accompanying programme. The exhibition series at ACUD Galerie intends to create space for learning, practising, hoping and entering into a trustful dialogue about possible futures – building on contemporary and past realities that cannot be forgotten nor denied. The series aims to meditate on radical imagination as a deeply-rooted and constantly growing vision. In order to imagine new worlds, habituated patterns must be interrupted, possibilities unearthed and experiences shared.

The program explores historical colonial practices related to integration processes of foreigners and examines community resources, gendered experiences and forms of reparation in the lives of refugees and cultural spaces.

Die Gesprächsreihe “Civic City”, die auch live als Podcast und Videostream übertragen wird, bringt Künstler*innen, Urbanist*innen, Denker*innen und Organisator*innen in Unterhaltungen zusammen, um aktuelle und zukünftige Formen des Zusammenlebens, der Arbeit und der Beteiligung in Berlin zu diskutieren, zu untersuchen und neue Formen zu imaginieren.

We are excited about the collaboration with Goethe-Institut in Exile at Kunsthaus ACUD and the contribution to the greater visibility not only of Ukrainian culture in Berlin, but also of Afghan, Syrian and Belarusian artists in exile in the coming months. The ACUD will not only become an exhibition space, but also a contact point for displaced and marginalised cultural workers. The exchange and linking with each other in the Kunsthaus and in Berlin is a common goal.

The series presents a program of musical evenings hosted by artists that are approaching sonic experience from plural positions. To speak from the plural means to step outside the linear temporalities and standard categories that have been inscripted in the contemporary’ musical gaze.

In the framework of the project „Miziki“, musicians from Kinshasa and Berlin come together to seek musical connections through conversations and performances.

Labkontempo brings together artists and theorists in Kinshasa and Berlin to question structures of postcolonial power, epistemic hierarchies and dominant trends in contemporary international art scenes.
