Wir, das 38-köpfige Team hinter ACUD MACHT NEU, dem unabhängigen Kunst- und Kulturort in Mitte, bitten gemeinsam um Eure Unterstützung! Durch die Schließung des Hauses haben viele von uns alle ihre Einnahmequellen verloren und wissen nicht, wie es in den nächsten Monaten weitergehen soll.
Wir haben ACUD MACHT NEU vor sechs Jahren als Initiative zur Wiederbelebung des Kunsthaus ACUD in Mitte gegründet. Wir bespielen drei Orte des Hauses – den CLUB, das STUDIO und die GALERIE. Im Laufe der Jahre haben wir zahlreiche Konzerte, Performances, Ausstellungen, Talks und Screenings von Tausenden von Künstlern aus der ganzen Welt präsentiert. Wir sind eine unabhängige, nicht-kommerzielle Institution ohne eine Basisförderung – dies bedeutet, dass unser Programm, unser Team und unsere Ausgaben zum größten Teil durch die Einnahmen aus den Veranstaltungen finanziert werden müssen.
Seit dem 12. März mussten wir unseren Betrieb einstellen – und erwarten, dass sich diese Situation bis zum Sommer nicht ändern wird – daher sind wir dringend auf finanzielle Unterstützung angewiesen um zu überleben und um im Sommer weiter machen zu können.
Wir sind ein internationales Team von 38 Personen, engagierten Kurator*innen, Künstler*innen, Kulturschaffenden und Techniker*innen, die die Räume und das Programm mit der gemeinsamen Vision eines integrativen, solidarischen Raumes für experimentelle und visionäre Künste am Laufen halten. Die meisten von uns sind selbst freischaffende Künstler, viele von uns sind Nicht-EU-Bürger und alle sind finanziell abhängig vom Einkommen aus dem Engagement für ACUD MACHT NEU. Wir haben in den letzten 6 Jahren alle unsere Zeit und Energie für das Programm eingesetzt, aber jetzt können wir nicht mehr ohne die Hilfe der Menschen aus der Umgebung, des Publikums, unserer Gemeinde und unserer Nachbarn – Euch – weitermachen. Jetzt brauchen wir Eure Unterstützung und Hilfe, um unsere Vision weiter verfolgen zu können.

As the team of 38 members behind ACUD MACHT NEU, the independent art space and cultural venue in Berlin, Mitte, we are asking collectively for your support!
Because of the closure of the house many of us lost their main income source and do not know how to move on in the next months. We are kindly asking you – the audience, the community, the neighbors – to consider donating.
We founded ACUD MACHT NEU six years ago as an initiative to save and revive the independent art space and cultural venue Kunsthaus ACUD in Mitte, Berlin by programming three of its spaces: the CLUB, the STUDIO and the GALERIE. Over the years we have presented concerts, performances, exhibitions, talks and screenings by thousands of artists with a great diversity of backgrounds and communities from all over the world. We are an independent non-commercial art space and a cultural venue without basic external fundings – which means that our program, our team and our expenses were financed by revenues from the events.
Since the 12th of March we are under total lockdown – and expecting this situation not to improve until summer – so we are in urgent need of financial support to survive.
We are an international team of 38 people keeping our space alive and the program with everything around it running. Most of us are freelance artists ourselves, many of us are Non-EU citizens and all are financially dependent on the basic income from our commitment to ACUD MACHT NEU. We were working here for 6 years out of passion and dedication investing our time and energy to it, but now we can not keep going on without the help of the people around it, of the audience, of our community – of YOU.
Our vision is to build an interactive forum of relevant cultural dialogue, a safe(r) space of free artistic expression for a local and international audience and invite anyone who shares the same values of openness; diversity, inclusiveness and cooperation that makes ACUD MACHT NEU’s artistic vision unique. We are grateful for all the positive feedback and support so far, and we all have the commitment to continue, if we can, for our community and neighborhood.
