This Friday a new series will kick-off in ACUD Club focusing on artists dealing with the dark, twisted and sexy. The Berlin-based collective Fathermother will line up residents from their own ranks, which include members of Fiordmoss and Boska. As a first taste, Boska compiled a playlist with music played on Friday.
LAO – PERFIL [NAAFI]
The Berlin crowd ought to be familiar with the NAAFI crew’s output after last year’s visit by several key members. This lovely high tempo mess of timbales and distorted subs by Lao will be out by the end of the month.
SUDA – IDIOPATH [HER]
From the excellent debut album. One more mad percussive rant complete with bells and whistles. I’m sold.
MENTAL OVERDRIVE – GONE WRONG [PLOINK]
From Hardware, the recent full length that was all jammed straight to tape, this one sounds like a laundromat in an 80’s sci-fi heard from upstairs — I think it’s safe to assume that this is more or less what the live set will sound like.
DJ LAG – ICE DROP [GOON CLUB ALLSTARS]
Massive but weirdly understated too. The high point in this track is when he breaks it down to play your hips with one conga.
DANY F – NADIE
This Medellin producer has been uploading EP’s of cumbia informed house through Cómeme and his bandcamp for years. Here’s a recent deep roller of the kind Charlotte Bendiks is known to play.
