Bomaye! W/ Molaudi + Florian Sievers

ACUD CLUB 20h → Club Night

Rural to urban, drums to data. In the energetic megacities between the Sahara and the Cape of Good Hope, battalions of Afro Rhythm Computers are hammering out new beats. BOMAYE! in Berlin’s ACUD club brings you these beats of contemporary, hip, urban Africa. Bass music, programmed rhythms, African electronic club music, from Mali to Kenya, from Nigeria to South Africa, from Kuduro and Coupé-Décalé to Balani Show, Bacardi House or Gqom. Traditions get carried on – in digital forms. It’s still the motherland, but forget about your clichés. BOMAYE! is a monthly series programmed by Daniel Haaksman and Florian Sievers. // Soundcloud
MO LAUDI [Jo'burg/Paris]
South African DJ, MC and producer MO LAUDI is shortcircuiting African roots, present and future. That is no surprise since some of the most futurist African electronic club music comes from the country at the continent’s Southern tip.
Born in Johannesburg, Mo has spent time in London where he ran the „Joburg Project“ club night, bringing people like Kwaito founder Oskido to the British capital before moving on to Paris to spread South Africa’s musical futurism in the city of love. As a vocalist and producer, Mo was featured on Radioclit’s groundbreaking African club music compilation „The Sound Of Club Secousse Vol. 1“ six years ago, and he recently did an excellent AfroHouse remix for Daniel Haaksman’s Track “Akabongi” featuring South African superstar rapper, Spoek Mathambo. As a DJ Mo Laudi fuses Afro electronic music from Gqom (South Africa) to Azonto (Ghana) into a seamless frenzy driving dancefloors up the wall – including occasional MCing by the man himself! // Soundcloud
