A Conversation With Jamie Stewart

Following his Twin Peaks themed performance at Silent Green Berlin, pop experimentalist Jamie Stewart (Xiu Xiu) is coming to ACUD for a talk with music journalist Lisa Blanning (The Wire, Electronic Beats).

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
 
JAMIE STEWART is an American musician and writer best known for his role as the dark literary mind in experimental rock band Xiu Xiu, one of underground music's consistently brilliant avant-pop outfits. He has appeared in other bands including Former Ghosts and Sal Mineo. In 2015, Xiu Xiu was commissioned by the Gallery of Modern Art in Australia to provide a new interpretation of the music from Twin Peaks. As part of a tour they will present their piece in Berlin 15 April. // Homepage

LISA BLANNING is an American writer and editor on music, art and culture currently operating out of Berlin. A former editor at The Wire Magazine in London and Electronic Beats in Berlin, current editor-in-chief of PLATOON, she is especially engaged in movements in contemporary electronic music. She has published cover stories for publications in three different countries, and led panel discussions for festivals such as Unsound and CTM, as well as institutions such as University of East London. // Homepage - Twitter
