Tsf'16 Warm-Up 1

In anticipation of TSF'16, Torstraßen Festival and Shameless/Limitless proudly present the Berlin debut of Maya Postepski's (of Austra and TR/ST) new project, Princess Century. Opening the night is Pascale Project, after party W/ DJs Mona Lisa Disco and Magic Island.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS
 
Maya Postepski aka PRINCESS CENTURY never stops. An active member of the Toronto music scene, she has been making music for over 10 years, currently as part of electronic group Austra (Domino Records). She is a prolific remix artist, DJ and she co-wrote and produced TRST with Robert Alfons as Trust (Arts & Crafts). This project is the outlet for her genre-crossing experiments that take us on a journey through minimalist cosmic disco psychedelia, crossing through glacial poly-rhythmic territories soaked in dark dripping goo and mechanical pulses that could melt the heart of a cobra.

PASCALE PROJECT is the very recent reincarnation of Pascale Mercier’s solo-project formerly called Mathematique. Mercier is based in Montréal and what suddenly made her a project we cannot explain. Neither can the artist, who is instead revelling in uncertainty: “Who knows what is going to happen? Who cares?,” she asks the internet and answers: “Don’t worry, everything is going to be fine, everyone is going to have fun.” And we are certainly having fun with Mercier’s music. The Canadian’s songs are as charming as they are catchy.

Wiping the sleep out of her eyes Emma C aka MAGIC ISLAND writes love songs at dawn, odes to late hours and awakening sunups. Bliss meets hangover, hooklines disappear into “I wonder if we make it through another Night of the Sunset.”
