Strand Child + Milwalkie + Highest Sea

After a night showcasing music from Lithuania Berlin based tape label Mouca is back to ACUD with a concert gathering three bands from the local indierock scene. Dream pop outfit Strand Child, Indierockers Milwalkie and melancholic rock project Highest Sea.

STRAND CHILD is a psych dreampop outfit of three like-minded, international musicians with a big heart for 20th century rock music and lo-fi recording. In Strand Child’s sound, you can find lessons learned from the 70's power-poppers, Big Star, a hint of late 80's experimentation of Guided By Voices, as well as the unbreakable loyalty to the decade-defining work of 90's heavyweights, Pavement.

MILWALKIE is one of these typical Berlin stories: The brothers Steve and Matt Morris and their good friend Sam Coleman moved from Scotland to Berlin. One day they found Benedikt Wahls, the Prince of Dortmund, drunk in the Nordic Embassy. He was complimenting telling them that his snare drum had the perfect sound for Milwalkie and that it was destiny that they had met. The four of them started practising and playing shows. For fans of stuff like Real Estate, Mac Demarco and The War On Drugs.

HIGHEST SEA takes us on a seductive journey into the night, carried on a wave of melancholic and dreamy psychedelic indie rock. Behind the name is songwriter Leïla Zanzibar, whose raw and mystical vocals tell bewitching stories about haunted hearts silently guided by the steady call of the sea. With influences ranging from Lower Dens to Atlas Sound and Angel Olsen, her songs are an ode to everything we fear and long for as we make our own paths through life’s tide.
