Behind the festival is the team from the 8MM Bar, who are launching a fresh project following the enforced break from the Synästhesie Festival. Two days, five stages, international acts side by side with local talent – a strong statement for solidarity, diversity, and the promotion of the scene.
A special element is the New Colossus Festival Showcase for Friday , which deepens the exchange between Berlin and New York. Artists from both cities are given new platforms and together create an exciting network of musical and cultural impulses.
The New Colossus Festival itself takes place annually on New York City's Lower East Side, including legendary clubs such as the Mercury Lounge and Arlene's Grocery. It is considered the North American counterpart to SXSW and, like the 8MM Fest, stands for community, diversity, and the joy of discovery in indie and underground music.
