PUBLIC TALK & DISCUSSION: "ART IN TIMES OF WAR AND DISPLACEMENT. ON THE CURRENT SITUATION IN SUDAN"

On April 14, 2023, an armed conflict erupted in Sudan between the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). At that time, few anticipated how long the war would last at such intensity. While international coverage dwindled after a few weeks, the security and humanitarian situation remains extremely precarious in many parts of the country. Millions of Sudanese people have been forced to flee their homes, including many artists and cultural workers.
How is the Sudanese arts and culture scene dealing with this situation? What strategies are being developed and what role can international institutions play in this regard?
Together with MiCT, we invite you to a public talk and discussion a year after the beginning of the conflicts, where we aim to shed light on the current situation in Sudan and the diaspora with our guests.
