Nearly two years after the start of the pandemic NIA Records teams up with the artists behind Y IS EVERYTHING SO EXHAUSTING exhibition, looking to establish collective practises of healing and connecting through art and music in times characterised by chronic fatigue and growing social tension. We invite you for a listening session full of sensible sounds, joined by friends of the label and the exhibiting artists both the event and the exhibition echo rejection of the capitalist, colonial conditions that have felt especially overwhelming during the last two years.

Eddington Again
Berlin-via-LA polymath Eddington Again creates left-field soul with pop sensibilities, exploring human experience and spirituality through their electronic tracks inspired by the likes of Santigold, SZA, Sampha and Bloc Party. Having played alongside the likes of Dam Funk, Flume and Charli XCX, they are steadily establishing themselves as an innovator of alternative music.

Profiled in LOOK AT US zine which documents LA’s queer Black underground, Eddington told i-D magazine they hope their music provides listeners with “powerful emotion and downloads from the source.” With acclaim from Mixmag and Boiler Room 4:3, previous single ‘Blindsided’ came with a Refuge Worldwide show that was hailed as Resident Advisor’s mix of the day.

Their newest offering, ‘Core 22’ is a pulsating electronic cut, leaning more into the dance elements that often underpin Eddington’s sound. Aligning with the timeless in the pocket feel that remains so unique to them, Eddington Again is making it clear that debut album ‘Naomi9’ is not to be missed.

Panasiagirl
Raised Singapore-Turkish, Panasiagirl is a DJ/Producer and core member of the No Shade collective based in Berlin. Taking contrasting experiences from living in Singapore, New York, LA, and Belgium, she plays with the intersectional elements to her music crossing East to West and working across genres from ambient, r&b, hybrid club, reggaeton and trance. As a producer, she draws on her Singaporean background mixing traditional Malaysian percussions and riddims with post hybrid club and experimental dance music.

Ariesfallenangel
Nuur, aka ARIESFALLENANGEL, is a Berlin/New York based DJ/producer from Seattle. Her cross genre bending mixes will bring you on a wave of emotions blending ambient with heavy bass music, melodic techno and electro. She is part of collectives like New World Dysorder, No Shade and Dollhouse.

Esper Moss
Esper Moss brings moist sonic environments to open your mind and hips. Their sounds explore southeast asian sonic traditions, global cyber culture, and community oriented dance music.

Collo
NIA Records’ co-founder Collo is a music producer/ sound designer/ DJ of Kenyan heritage, raised partly in Australia. Their work over the past few months has consisted
of singles for notable compilations for DECISIONS and Radiant Love, along with their second EP released last year with TAR Records. Collo’s work extends out to creating sound for moving image purposes for art installations and fashion films as a member of AM Soundesign. More recently exploring video work.

Delfiné
Another label co-founder Delfiné is a Berlin-based musician, music producer and sound artist from Warsaw, Poland and a co-founded of a new experimental music collective/label NIA Records. Their musical journey began at an early stage of their life and was formalised in 2018 when they completed a bachelor degree in Electronic Music Production & Performance in Berlin. Over the years they have worked on multiple projects, solo and collaborative, across many different genres. Their latest project Five Arrangements for Architectural Forms explores the multiplicity and depth of field recordings and found sounds interwoven with digital synthesis and an intricate chain of audio effects, creating a sonic reflection on the human altered world.
