About
Since 2014, Krõõt Juurak and Alex Bailey have developed, in cooperation with dog and cat psychologists Performances for Pets.They have explored the tastes of our companion species and dealt with their role as immaterial workers inside of domesticated environments.
After an initial welcome conversation, the performance is performed to individual dogs, with their owner and/or friends present. Multiple dogs may attend a performance if they already know one another previously. The performance, designed to interest dogs through dynamic movement,(dog)specific body language, sounds and timing, is improvisational to a score and can become interactive only if the audience so wish. For the dog audience the experience of watching the performance could resemble playing or observing or participating in a game they do not fully understand the rules of.
