Explore Nepal and its rich cultural heritage with the music of Nepalese folk band Night, which is currently on Europe tour. Night has two albums already released, both of which were well-received critically and commercially and carved a niche for the band, with an audience spanning from metal heads, music connoisseurs and the common man.
A Kathmandu-based folk band Night focuses on reviving lost and endangered Nepali instruments and creating new sounds rooted in collective Nepali heritage and reintroducing said music and instruments to a world audience.
Knox’s musical career has spanned over three decades, including long stints as a member of The Psychedelic Furs, Siouxsie and the Banshees and Cyndi Lauper’s band. He’s also performed, recorded, arranged and produced with acts including R.E.M., Depeche Mode, Grace Jones, Marianne Faithful, Natalie Merchant, The Creatures, The Golden Palominos, and Lou Reed.
Across multiple musical disciplines, he has taken on the roles of guitarist, cellist, bassist, producer, programmer, string arranger, and composer. Knox has always been willing to experiment. Apart from traditional, structured composition, Knox creates real-time improvised multi-track musical soundscapes.
‘Night’ will be collaborating and improvising with Knox with different instruments and Sounds of Nepal creating a mesmerizing journey through their soundscape.
