ABOUT
 
In April, an event named Happy Ending took place in Berlin. The event used an ancient erotic Japanese Shunga motif, promises of massages and (American invented) fortune cookies, and was hosted at a Vietnamese restaurant. This type of random, clumsy Asian stereotyping is offensive and harmful to the Asian community and is no way of celebrating culture. We decided to take this occasion and turn it into something positive.

Dedicated to her family‘s nostalgia, JOALICIOUS, a food-passionate artist and an enthusiastic food pop up collaborator, provides variations of chi faan, a traditional handy food in Chinese speaking countries. Originally, sticky rice rolls, filled with You Char Kway (a Chinese doughnut), yuk sung (pork floss) & cha tsoi (pickled mustard plant). This once very popular streetfood is becoming more and more extinct in the streets of Hong Kong where her roots lie. *Also as a vegan version available!
