The mouthharps seem to exist all over the world. In South-east Asia, bamboo has been the main material used to make mouthharps, but copper is now predominant, several models of mouthharps exist among so many traditions of ethnic minorities inhabiting the Zomian highlands.
 
Introducing various models of one blade mouthharps in Vietnam, Laos and China but also the multi blades mouthharps of the NUOSU in Sichuan, China

From 2000 till 2014 LAURENT JEANNEAU was based in South-East Asia recording the music, songs and rituals of traditional cultures rooted in the remote Hinterlands. In as series of 5 events he presents the music of these historical areas of refuge also called the Zomian highlands.
