As one of the rare shows around her performance at this year´s Le Guess Who festival A Silver Mt Zion/ Black Ox Orkestar/Geraldine Fibbers Member Jessica Moss will stop by at Acud. Accompanied by Hrsta, the solo project of Godspeed You! Black Emperor´s Mike Moya.

JESSICA MOSS
Out of the great Collective of Artist around Montreal´s Constellation Records Jessica Moss will be presenting a unique and mesmerizing solo performance of violin, vocals and effects. The pieces she has created are hypnotic and long-form. In her performances, Jessica draws on all of her considerable and varied experiences as a violinist and makes use of elements of drone, repetition, music concrete, and some classical forms. She has studied the Jewish music of her heritage, and some Arabic Maqams. In August 2015 she recorded in New York with Fugazi´s Guy Picciotto, and has released the results of that session on a cassette called ‘Under Plastic Island’, available at shows and on bandcamp. She is currently working on a full length record, to be released in 2017. // Homepage

HRSTA
... (pronounced her-shta) is the brainchild of singer and guitarist Mike Moya who, along with a revolving cast of musicians, has performed under the name since 2000. Moya was a founding member of GY!BE, and is a core member of other Montréal groups Molasses and set Fire To Flames. Hrsta harnesses traditional and otherworldly sound as Moya sings lyrics cribbed from lost faerie tales in a voice that recalls a more blissed-out Daniel Johnson or a less blissed-out Wayne Coyne. Moya’s electric guitar work is unique and recognizable to many from the early Godspeed records – a haunted, reverb-drenched, oscillating siren-sound, guided by a focused and soaring melodic sense. // Homepage
