Applied Arts #2: Mtmu, Pellegrino

Applied Arts focuses on the craftsmanship of djs and record selectors by presenting extended sets of genre-bending dance music. Rooted in black music and spanning from disco and funk to US house, from fusion jazz to detroit techno and back, A.A. advocates both the percussive as well as the spiritual sounds, aiming to reunite dance floors with moments of emotional euphoria and transcendental bliss.
 
A.A. is a collaboration between Cashmere Radio and Acud Macht Neu and features, aside from Radio associated acts, one guest per night, who will be encouraged to dig deeper into her/his record bag, provided absolute freedom to conjure a genre crossing set.
 
For the second edition of Applied Arts we are very pleased to welcome the mysterious edit-man MTMU (Music Takes Me Up) as well as the neapolitan producer, dj and percussionist Pellegrino.

PELLEGRINO
... has a visceral love for drums and percussions, for deep sounds of stringed instruments, synths and rhythms woven with each other seamlessly, so that these are trademarks in the construction of his sets as well as his productions. Fresh off an EP, "Periplo" which has raised more than a few eyebrows for the excellent execution of hand-played disco, funk and boogie, he will join us to uncover what's in his bag these days.
