    And later, in an empty room, lying prostrate… a low thrum… a rising brume…

    The two axes of language carries you along; an imaginary line about which a body rotates.

    Merge one body into another, time functioning as a spindle.

    When you hear the static crackling, you remember a distant ringing, a game of musical chairs, the shape of your mother’s body at dusk—or was it your father?

    Traipse across overdetermined points until they cohere into a single vibrating position.

    As you turn, you see yourself: shadow on surface. In a moment of revelation/identity, you recognize yourself in this external negation, your displacement as form.

    KINGDOM OF FROGS – GEORGIAN VIDEO ART

    Is Georgia’s capital Tbilisi a chessboard for the hidden elites or a kingdom of frogs? With an ironic symbolism, a very own humour, and some bitter seriousness, video artists from Georgia can tell you a lot about their country. Aleksi Soselia, Ana Chaduneli and Dilla are participants of Georgian Video Art, an exhibition and an open archive for contemporary video art from the country. The three artists will present a selection of own and other works from that ongoing video collection which are rarely shown outside Georgia. Afterwards there’ll be drinks and some sound impressions of hyper modernism and neo traditionalism.

    With works by Ana Chaduneli, Dilla, Mamuka Japharidze, Gegi Khaburzania, Aleksi Soselia, Wato Tsereteli a.o.
    In conversation with Sophie Jung

    Instruments of Discipline presents: Geodetic ‘Cold Lights’ Release Party

    //

    GEODETIC [IT]
    … is the joint venture of well-known Italian experimentalist Claudio Rocchetti, a close collaborator of Valerio Tricoli, and Jukka Reverberi, founder of post-rock band Giardini di Mirò and half of cosmic electro-disco duo Crimea X. Instruments of Discipline is proud to release Cold Lights, Geodetics second EP, the follow up to Broken Consonance, released on Maple Death Records earlier this year. Cold Lights is an avant-garde undertaking that artfully weaves soundscapes that swing between murky industrial atmospheres to moments of uplifting levity, all held together by strong rhythmic grooves, a collage of at times familiar sounds juxtaposed into an altogether unfamiliar whole. Copies of the EP will be available at the event.
