RADIO ON
... tells the story of a radio DJ investigating the mysterious death of his brother, following his journey from London to Bristol through a bleak depiction of late 70’s Britain soundtracked by Kraftwerk, Bowie, Devo and Lene Lovich. Directed by filmmaker and novelist Chris Petit with cinematography by Martin Schäfer, Radio On is a unique Anglo-German collaboration and a rare example of the British road movie. The film presents a nation in transition, revealing its cryptic and pervasive spirit of disenchantment and the looming spectres of industry and urbanism, all encompassed by the vibrant transmissions of the radio.

With special thanks to the British Film Institute.
